Looks great! Thanks, Floyd’s Barbershop, for sprucing up the place!
Here’s the artist, Jonas Never, working on it back in the summer.

It is nice to have something on that wall. But the feminist/liberal in me wishes it had a better depiction of women or anyone other than white males, for that matter. Do we really need two women with what little clothes their wearing falling off on there. While the men play in bands, skateboard, playbaseball are women still just objects? The other two women in the mural are dancing with men and on some mans arm. I just wish the artist had made the baseball player a girl. Or put a women behind the wheel of the car. Apparently, These nights are still their’s(white men). Maybe that’s what it means by 59 style.
So yes to a mural, but no to this mural. It’s just not very repersentative of our community.
That’s my opinion,

And a valuable opinion it is! I see your points, but I’m looking at it from the perspective of: It’s better than graffiti or just a bad paint job.
I love the mural! I was searching the internet for it and was happy to find this site and to find out who the artist is. Not all the males on the mural are white- that’s Benny Rodriguez from the sandlot on the bottom left! Thank you for the article,
I like the mural and wondered if you did the mission mural at the recovery center in Winston Salem. I am wanting to work on a mural and thought I just might be involved. The one on this page is so professionallly done I am amazed. Jo Dawkins
