For those of us who’ve missed reading library books in their original form, we can rejoice: LAPL’s Library To Go has launched and the Mar Vista branch of the LA public library is participating. Yay!
The library itself is still not open, but you can get the books you want to borrow via this terrific new curbside pickup service.
How to Use Library to Go
The first step is to find the book(s) you want to borrow on the LAPL.org website by searching the catalog.
Next you place a HOLD on the book and select the Mar Vista branch as the pick-up spot.
Next, when your selected book is available, you’ll be contacted by the library with instructions and pick up time.
In Mar Vista, the pick-up spot is set up in the library parking lot, and it’s perfect for a curbside and contactless transaction.
And if you’re not interested in physical books, you can keep borrowing eBooks via the library website. They can be read on your Kindle, mobile device, or via the browser, depending on the title you choose.
