CD11 Youth Arts Challenge for CicLAvia March 3rd

CD11 Youth Arts Challenge for CicLAvia March 3rd

City Councilmember Mike Bonin is thrilled to announce that he will be hosting a CD11 youth arts challenge that coincides with CicLAvia on March 3rd.

Here are some details on timeline and the request for projects.

What: Student submissions may range in medium from painting to drawing, as long as it is on paper. The prompt for students is simple – “Share what a Great Street looks like to you” and/or “Draw your favorite way to move from one place to another.” (focus on the meaning of mobility).

When: Submissions will be due on 2/25 and the Council office will happily pick up the artwork on that day. The showing of the art will take place on 3/3, all day.

Who:  The council office will be curating and advertising the show in partnership with CicLAvia. Participants who enter the challenge will submit their work to the council office through field deputy Hannah Levien.

Where: On the day of CicLAvia, work will be displayed at Buckwild art gallery and likely Coffee Connection. Both on or near the CicLAvia route.

Why: The councilmember wants to celebrate this fantastic corridor in Mar Vista, in conjunction with CicLAvia and wants to share the celebration with the youngsters in the community!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Hannah Levien at hannah.levien@lacity.org.
