The rain may have made the shoppers a little sad, but the fruits and veggies didn’t mind today at the Mar Vista Farmer’s Market.
Look at these striped eggplants and pumpkins.
And this is Bitter Melon from B & T Farm.
The Mar Vista Arts & Crafts Collectivebraved the rain to sell holiday gifts and they will be there the next two Sundays for your shopping convenience.
All except Quilts from the Heart, which is a group of volunteer quilters who make and donate quilts to families in need.
They accept donations of 100% cotton fabric as well as cash. If you’d like to buy any of their beautiful, handmade items, you’ll need to contact Nina Flores at (310) 397-7845 or stop by their meetings at the Mar Vista Public Library: the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month from 1pm – 5pm.
Food Forward was in the Green Tent, letting everyone know about their efforts to harvest extra backyard fruit and donate it to food banks. They accept donations and welcome volunteers!
Hepp’s Saltwill now be a fixture at the Market every 1st Sunday of the month. Try the truffle salt – it’s quite amazing.
Santa was on hand for photos! But no Grinch this time. Sorry about that – I got that wrong! The Grinch will be at the market on the 16th. And next Sunday the 9th is Latke day!
