Bill Rosendahl Is Running For Re-Election LA City Council District 11

Mar Vista resident Bill Rosendahl is running for his third and final term in LA City Council District 11 and I wholeheartedly support him. So do many people I know, who are all getting together to help raise money for his campaign this Saturday, October 22nd, at the home of Pam and Tom Ponton.

Bill Rosendahl has been a wonderful Councilman and he is a wonderful man. He brings compassion to a job that often has to be about the bottom line and political expediency. I find him to be full of integrity.

The invitation for the Fund-raiser  is below and I encourage you to attend. You can spend some time with Bill and let him know what you think Mar Vista really needs. If, for any reason, you can’t attend but still want to support the Bill Rosendahl re-election campaign, please use this link to make a donation online.Bill Rosendahl Fund-raiser invitation October 22nd, 2011

LA City Council Votes to Limit Number of Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

And I applaud the decision.

Mar Vista has its share of medical marijuana shops already — in my opinion, more than its share. So, many are welcoming this action by the Council. I know I am. I hope it will mean closing some of these stores, one of which just opened recently 2 blocks from 2 schools. Medical Marijuana dispensaryPlease understand that I believe marijuana can be used medically — and that it should be available for those who need it. I just don’t like seeing a pot dispensary on every corner. Having a Starbucks everywhere is bad enough. I would feel the same way if there were liquor stores cropping up all over my neighborhood. The market is saturated, people. Find another way to do business: form co-ops and collectives with each other.
