Chrysalis Workers Can Help With Extra Holiday Work

This time of year, there’s so much to do and so little time to do it. Chrysalis to the rescue! Chrysalis can provide workers on a temporary basis to help out around your business or home.

Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization “dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment.”

If you are interested in getting Solar panels on your roof, come and find out about the ones installed on my roof. I opted for the SolarLease from Solar City two years ago and I am really happy with them!

Quite frankly, I don’t really go look at them very often since they are on my roof, after all. But I know they’re working every time I turn on my coffee maker or TV.

If you’d like to have some on your roof, whether you’re interested in buying or leasing, come on over to the little party I’m throwing on Saturday, December 10th. Tom Folan, from Solar City, will be here to answer questions about how it all works, from installation to financing.

Plus there will be refreshments! And if you sign up to get your panels within 30 days of the party, you’ll get a $500 gift card from Home Depot. Not too shabby.

Wind Damage In Mar Vista

The wind storm on November 30 did major damage around Southern California, most significantly to the East of us, but Mar Vista had a little bit of damage as well. I saw these downed trees, one blocking a neighbor’s car in her driveway.

UPDATE: I saw that the Piece o’ Pizza sign came down on a truck. Yikes!

I understand the winds may pick up again tonight, so batten down the hatches, Mar Vista – and make sure you have extra batteries on hand!

Announcing the Solar City Information Party December 10, 2011 from 2-4pm!

Have you thought about getting Solar Panels for your house? Have you heard about the SolarLease Program but want to know more?

Well, come to our SolarCity Info Party and we’ll tell you all about it!

I’ve had solar panels on my roof for 2 years and Solar City installed them. Tom Folan, from Solar City, helped set up the system on my roof, and will be here to answer all the basics about solar and how SolarLease works in LADWP and SCE.

We’ll have refreshments and anyone who signs up within 30 days of the party will receive a $500 Home Depot gift card!

December 10th, 2011 from 2 – 4pm (address will be mailed once you RSVP)

Sound good? Then rsvp to me* and we’ll get the ball rolling!

We’ll ask for some basic data about your house so Tom can assess what your system might be capable of even before you get here. And you’ll probably need to know what you’re currently paying for electricity so you can see how much of a savings there will be.

Just to let you know, I opted for the SolarLease. It meant I spent $0 to have the panels installed.

Yes, I just said I didn’t have to pay any money for Solar City to install the panels – and I’m not making it up.

Now I pay a fixed lease payment every month, and my energy costs going forward will be considerably less than I would pay to the utility.

Help out this great cause by donating your gently-worn footwear! Soles4Souls helps save used shoes from landfills by distributing them to needy people all over the world. Last year Mar Vistans donated over 800 pairs of shoes! Let’s make it a bigger number this year!
