January Mar Vista Library Programs

The Mar Vista Library branch begins the year continuing the Winter Reading Challenge. There is still time to sign-up in the branch or online. Reading just 5 hours entitles you to a book and a raffle ticket with a chance to win a branch prize. Stop by the Reference Desk to see the choices!

January’s featured programs:

Wednesday, Jan 3rd, 11am – Preschool/Toddler Story Time returns every Wednesday of the month

Thursday, Jan 4th, 12:30pm – Baby Story Time

Saturday, Jan 6th, 10am – SAT Math workshop, pre-registration required

Saturday, Jan 6th, 2:30pm – Kim Selbert will present “YOU are Stronger than Cancer”

Monday, Jan 8th, 4pm – end of Winter Reading craft making event

Friday, Jan 12th, 1pm – Quilters return on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month

Saturday, Jan 13th, 10am – SAT Practice Test, pre-registration required

Monday, Jan 15th – closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

Tuesday, Jan 16th, 5:30pm – Mar Vista Movie Night “The Lego Batman Movie”

Thursday, Jan 18th, Noon – The Source provides free health and shelter services plus DMV and Healthy Choices will be onsite to offer their services to the community

Thursday, Jan 18th, 6:30pm – Mystery Book Club will discuss High Window, a Raymond Chandler classic

Wednesday, Jan 24th, 6:30pm – Lilly Padilla will present “Weight Loss & Anti-inflammatory Nutrition”

Thursday, Jan 25th, 6:30pm – Mar Vista Friends will meet to discuss plans for the upcoming February 3rd book sale. All community members are invited to attend.

Saturday, Jan 27th, 10am – SAT Test Review, pre-registration required
