  1. I was amazed at how quickly mine filled up! And during a break in the rain I filled four buckets worth to water plants that were under cover…..when you see how dirty it is you will be thrilled that we are going to filter it through the earth rather than letting it pour through the sewers into Santa Monica Bay.
It’s a lot of water! I see more barrels in my future to capture the other sides of both roofs….

  2. I was gone all afternoon and came home to it overflowing like crazy! When I’m home next time it rains I’ll fill up buckets, too. Great idea. I clearly need more barrels!!

And Melissa, I don’t think apartments do qualify right now, which is not good. Actually, apartment buildings are the new frontier for Green, according to Sherri. We need to get rid of a lot of road blocks in order to get them to go green as well…

  3. Last night the MVCC board approved our grant for the 6 week pilot project course on green living with Sustainable Works – yeah!!! We need to fill it with renters and their landlords!! Can’t wait to start planning it with you :)

  4. That’s a great idea – thanks Jeb and Annie. As soon as the rain stops I’ll get the hose.

  5. Luckily, there’s still time before the next rain storm, which may not happen for months…
