Today was opening day for the North Venice Little League,
named for another part of town, but located at the top of Grand View hill in
Mar Vista.
The day was full of ceremony as all the teams were introduced, Councilman Bill Rosendahl threw out the first pitch, Venice sang the Star Spangled Banner, and all the parents realized that they’re stuck spending the next three months
of their lives up at the ball park. But of course, it’s all for the love of the game!
Every season, the rituals are repeated: parents getting
involved (sometimes too involved) in their kids’ lives, kids enjoying the
All-American game of baseball, and everyone enjoying the chili fries at the snack
bar.
Play Ball!!
